Key stepYou will need: proof of identity (passport, birth certificate), proof of continuous presence (letters, bills, school records from each year since 2007), and passport-size photos.
Complete the forms
Complete Form I-821D (DACA application) and I-765 (work permit). Both are submitted together. Double-check for errors before sending.
Submit your application
Key stepSend the forms with the fee payment (only I-765, the I-821D is free) to the USCIS service center for your state. Keep a complete copy of everything you send.
Renew before it expires
Key stepYou can renew DACA up to 150 days before it expires. USCIS recommends renewing between 120 and 150 days before. Don't wait until the last days because the process can take months.
